Workshop toxine botulique ou botox

What is botulinum toxin (botox)?

Botox helps to smooth the skin and erase disgraceful wrinkles. Botulinum toxin is a substance that has the function of reducing muscle contraction by intervening at the neuromuscular junction (myorelaxant action). → This “muscle relaxer” substance is manufactured according to draconian standards, with a perfectly controlled concentration in international units, hence its use in medicine since 1975 in France in very specific indications such as ophthalmology, ENT and neurology. Since 2003, these indications have been extended to aesthetics for the treatment of glabellar and forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.
